The Lovely Bones Discussed:

Much of the discussion focused on George Harvey and his mindset throughout the novel.
-Sam described him as being "unfeeling and dead inside."
-We all agreed that Harvey enjoyed playing a game with all his victims.
-He tried to stop it, but he couldn't.
-He had no remorse.
-His bad childhood was just used as an excuse for what he did.
-No one was satisfied with the way Harvey died.
We all talked about what we'd want to be in our own Heaven.
Other aspects of the story mentioned:
-We were all annoyed with the mother's way of dealing with her grief.
-We saw that Ruth and Ray had a very big connection with each other.
-The author continues a theme of death throughout her novels.
-The first fifty or so pages were very disturbing.

The next book is "Life as We Knew It" by Susan Beth Pfeffer.

Postponed

The Book Discussion for The Lovely Bones has been postponed. Stay tuned for the new date.

-If we could all try to get one new member each, then the club would able to grow in membership. It's just something to think about.
