SOME NEW BOOKS TO TRY FROM LITTLE FALLS LIBRARY DECEMBER 2007

Here's some of our newer YA books that you might want to try:

My mother the cheerleader by Robert Sharenow in which 13 year old Louise uncovers secrets about her family and her neighborhood that occurred during school desegregation in 1960 New Orleans.

Exploits of a reluctant (but extremely goodlooking hero) by Maureen Fergus in which our unlikely hero is forced to "volunteer" in a soup kitchen. It's a cause he couldn't care less about until he stumbles across a shocking piece of information. What happens next surprises everyone.

How it happened in Peach Hill by Marthe Jocelyn in which 15 year old Annie is forced, by her mother, to pose as an idiot in order to spy on neighbors and then provide her mother, "Madame Caterina," with "the dirt" on them. Her mother then poses as Madame Caterina, a seer who seems to know all about everyone. One day, however, Annie decides to take charge of her own life.
